Introduction

Hi, my name is Jeffrey and I like to make things, usually relating to space or abstract nonsense. I'm a Film and Media Studies major at Lawrence University, and my goal is to work in some way or another with games or animated features, be it directing, storyboarding, editing, etc. I'm content as long as I'm part of the creative pipeline. Even though I have no real musical background, I love synthesizers and usually score my own projects. I'm not sure as to why I love space, fantasy worlds, and cheesy synth sounds, but I suspect Metroid (my favorite game series as a kid) has something to do with it. As for animation, it piqued my interest once I started trying to seriously draw during my senior year of high school. At the same time, my friends introduced me to anime, and I fell in love with how freeform and different it was compared to Western studios in both content and form. This project is essentially a culmination of all of these interests, while taking a stab at something completely novel for me, that is turning these passions into a video game. I'm not sure how I'll make it, or even what the player will do, but I'm really hoping to emphasize sensory experiences as opposed to gameplay (the project was originally going to be an animation). Due to my amateur drawing skills, the project will hopefully be mixed-media, infusing pixel art, hand-drawn animation, and vector art into one (with synthesizer scoring of course!). I don't have anything concrete at the moment, so here's a moodboard of my own sketches as well as general inspirations

Loose Story: An astronaut lands on a desolate planet wherein he finds a database log of the history of what transpired there, and why only ruins remain
